Ultrashape can be carried out without any surgery needed as only soundwaves are used to vibrate the body fat, which helps achieve the results of body shaping. Ultrashape is not the same as the common ultrasound; through it, ultrasound with low frequency and high energy can be penetrated through the skin surface and break the subcutaneous layer of fat via vibration. Then the broken fats will be replaced eventually in the mechanism of circulatory system. The whole process does not involve any pain or uncomfortable feeling, in addition to no side effects. The invention is one of those greatest inventions in this era and it will surely spark a wave of popularity sooner or later.

There is also a kind of ultrasound which has a medium frequency and energy that is normally used in rehabilitation. This is due to the thermal energy released when the equipment is in contact with the human body which leads to an increase in local circulation and enhances the rate of replacement of the tissues.
The next ultrasound has low frequency but high energy. This kind of ultrasound does not release any heat when in contact with the human body but very high energy can be transferred into the body. This can be considered a kind of mechanical energy that can achieve the effect of vibration. The extracorporeal shockwave lithotripter used for nephrolithiasis treatment and the ‘External Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction’ which I mentioned earlier, use this kind of ultrasound.
Another kind of ultrasound would be the one used for fat lipolysis, fat extraction surgery. The procedure is to locate the probe in front of the fat extracting tube. Following the penetration of the tube into the body fat layers, the ultrasound is emanated to break the fats through vibration and then the broken fats are removed.
To strengthen the external ultrasound assisted liposuction function, many ultrashape is modified with the installment of radio frequency and other designs. However, please be aware that if you feel heat during the radiation, this kind of equipment can only improve the production of collagen at most. Ultrasound similar to the one used in rehabilitation most probable do not have the function of lipolysis.
If wants to achieve the result of Ultrashape, the ultrasound used must have low frequency and high energy. Moreover, its probe should have the ability to focus so it can penetrate from different direction. With these characteristics, the penetration through the skin is not high so it will not damage the skin tissues. The ultrasound will accumulate in energy when it reaches under the skin and then vibrate to break the fats. (Figure 2)

The Ultrashape, produced by Israel is the most infamous external ultrasound assisted liposuction equipment, which has not been introduced yet into Taiwan. It does not have an official Chinese name but the name ‘ULTRASHAPE/External Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty’ seems to be more appealing! (Figure 3)

Patients Suitable For Ultrashape:
Middle-aged men and women, women who have passed their puberty, patients with gynecomastia. The elderly and children are disallowed.
Range:
Ultrashape is not an all-round machine. Using the sebumeter measurement, the treated parts should be at least 1.5cm and above in terms of thickness then the treatment can be carried out. (Figure 4) Normally, the treatment results on the stomach, waist, and the lateral thigh are the best while the results for the inner thigh are less satisfied.

For the time being, the equipment is not yet introduced into Taiwan. According to the foreign currency conversion, one treatment will cost about 60 000 Taiwan dollars.
After the treatment:
After the completion of one treatment, about 1.5 to 3 cm of diameter of fat can be reduced. In terms of the waistline and the diameter of the legs, about 2 to 5.5cm thickness of fat can be reduced. (Figure 5)
